¿Qué es la Certificación Profesional de Ingenieros Civiles?

Es un proceso voluntario de los ingenieros egresados de las escuelas y facultades de ingeniería de nuestro país, que consiste en actualizar los conocimientos que adquirieron desde que salieron de su carrera y someterse a un examen el cual certifique que sus conocimientos están actualizados.

¿Para qué Certificarse como ingeniero?

La certificación profesional tiene la finalidad de brindar un mejor servicio a la sociedad, basado en la actualización periódica del conocimiento de los ingenieros, garantizando la calidad de los Ingenieros Certificados y le permitirá tener mayor certeza en los proyectos realizados, así como el respaldo de una conducta ética.

La Certificación Profesional Periódica, significa que los ingenieros, puedan prestar servicios a la sociedad a la altura del Estado, logrando con esto:  

La protección al público usuario mediante la actualización de sus conocimientos,
El control en el desempeño ético ante la ausencia de normas que establezcan los estándares permisibles en el ejercicio de la ingeniería,
La mejora científica, técnica y cultural de los ingenieros.
 En nuestro país aún no existe, como ya lo hay en otros países, la Certificación Profesional Obligatoria

Los Colegios de Ingenieros Civiles son las entidades legalmente capacitadas para la Certificación de los Ingenieros Civiles.

¿Cómo se certifican los Ingenieros Civiles?

La Secretaría de Educación Pública ha otorgado a los Colegios de Ingenieros la facultad de Certificar a sus pares. Este mecanismo se obtiene mediante la aplicación de un Examen de Certificación de conocimientos a los candidatos, para lo cual la SEP debe otorgar al CICM un Certificado de Idoneidad, el cual consiste en el cumplimiento de diversos requisitos que debe cumplir cada Colegio y someterlo a la aprobación de la Dirección General de Profesiones. Una vez cumplidos esos requisitos, la SEP otorga este Certificado a los Colegios, el cual debe actualizarse cada 5 años.
Uno de esos requisitos para que un colegio pueda Certificar, es que participe una entidad externa al Colegio, aprobada por la SEP, que se encargue de llevar a cabo el Examen y calificarlo con el fin de que tenga transparencia y objetividad. En el caso del CICM esta entidad externa es la Dirección de Evaluación Educativa de la UNAM.
El CICM tiene su tercera revalidación del Certificado de Idoneidad.

Facetas de examen de Certificación de Ingeniero Civil

Los exámenes de CERTIFICACIÓN tienen tres facetas:
- Conocimientos generales
- Práctica profesional
- Juicio profesional
Tanto la Práctica Profesional como el Juicio Profesional, están enfocados a la especialidad que el sustentante elija, de acuerdo con sus actividades preponderantes.
De los tres conceptos antes indicados, los que tienen mayor peso en el examen, son los correspondientes a la práctica profesional y al juicio profesional, y son seleccionados en la disciplina en la que el aspirante ha participado en sus últimos años.
Se busca que los reactivos de conocimientos generales respondan a los conceptos básicos de la ingeniería y no a preguntas enfocadas a la teoría, como si acabaran de salir de la escuela.
La probabilidad de aprobar el examen es alta, pues la mayor concentración de los reactivos corresponden a las actividades y experiencias que ha tenido el aspirante en sus últimos años
Un participante que no reúne los puntos mínimos de la calificación, no queda acreditado y puede presentar el examen posteriormente cuantas veces lo decida.

Cuotas para Certificación de Ingenieros Civiles

La cuota por revisión del examen será de $1,500.00 más IVA.

Las cuotas deberán cubrirse por medio de efectivo pago con tarjeta de debito o crédito directamente en las oficinas del Colegio, situadas en Camino a Santa Teresa núm. 187, col. Parques del Pedregal, México, Ciudad de México
